WHO WE ARE

The Counseling Place was founded in 1979 as a 501(c)(3) to strengthen our community of Richardson, Texas and surrounding areas. Our Counseling, Victims’ Assistance, and Youth Programs serve between 1,600 and 2,000 people each year.

We provide mental health services to community members and first-responders regardless of their ability to pay. Thanks to our partnerships with the cities of Richardson and Sachse and additional grant funding, we can provide free, long-term counseling and support services to victims of crime and trauma. We also provide education services for children and adolescents, which improve the emotional intelligence and brain health of our young community members.

Youth Programs

We provide counseling and education courses for children and adolescents, giving them a second chance and an opportunity to avoid the criminal justice system.

In addition, we provide counseling and Project Positive to help young people strengthen emotional intelligence and improve brain health.

Courses include: Drug Awareness, Juvenile First Offender Program, and Project Positive. Click here for more information.
