OFFENDER PROGRAM

WHAT IS THE JUVENILE FIRST OFFENDER PROGRAM?

A 5-week course utilizing our Project Positive curriculum. Minors can avoid entering the juvenile justice system by completing the course along with community service hours. Referrals come from the Richardson Police Department and other municipal courts. This program has a set fee.*

TOPICS COVERED:

  • Emotional Intelligence

  • How the brain reacts to stress, and real or perceived threats.

  • Improve their ability to recognize and manage emotions

  • Making better decisions

  • Understanding the power of practicing gratitude

  • Developing positive habits

COURSE FEE

$250 (Fee is non-refundable)

The course fee must be paid by the last class.
Accepted forms of payment: Credit card or check. Payments can be made online or by phone.

Our classes are currently being offered through one-on-one online or in-person sessions.

What else do I need to know?

Arrive a few minutes early! The Counseling Place is in an office suite inside the Richardson Medical Park building. The doors to the building lock in the evenings. If you are late to class, you will not be able to enter the building, and you will not be able to attend the class. We will not refund your money if you’re late or miss a class.

You can bring water but no other snacks or drinks.


Who tells the court I’ve completed the course?

You do. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate. You’ll provide that to the court. If you lose your certificate, we charge $25 for the replacement.
